WHAT IS A DUANJU?
Duanju, or mobile fiction, is a vertical mini-series designed for smartphones. Fast-paced and compact, it typically features episodes of one to three minutes. Born in China, the format is now growing internationally and inspiring a new generation of creators. The word “Duanju” comes from Chinese 短剧 (duǎnjù), meaning “mini-drama”. Depending on usage and platforms, the format may also be referred to by various other names such as micro-series, vertical short series, vertical fiction, mobile mini-series, short drama, vertical short drama, micro drama, short-form series, mobile-first series, as well as 微短剧 (wēi duǎnjù) and 竖屏短剧 (shùpíng duǎnjù).

Duanju.news is an independent media outlet dedicated to vertical mobile fiction. Supported by an international team, it tracks news about the format, highlights emerging creations, and positions itself as a source of market intelligence for a rapidly evolving sector. The site is structured around two main sections. The first part, dedicated to news, is managed by our editorial team and offers regular monitoring of sector novelties, all accompanied by a specialized search engine on Duanju to facilitate content exploration. The second part presents fictions from Sanjorge Production, offering direct access to original series adapted in different countries. The entire platform is developed by the Studio Phocéen association.
